Once students have registered to take the ACT, they will receive an admissions ticket. The admissions ticket will contain the test date and time. Students should arrive at their designated testing center prior to the start time of the test. Students who fail to arrive before the start of the test, will not be admitted into the test center.
Students must present their admissions ticket and proof of identification upon arrival at the testing center. An example of acceptable identification includes a driver’s license or passport. Identification must include the student’s name and photo.
Testing staff will verify the student’s identification and admission ticket. The staff will then direct the student to the designated testing room and designated seat. Students who behave improperly or who fail to follow the directions provided by the test proctor will be dismissed from the testing center and their test scores will be cancelled.
Students are allowed to bring a calculator for the Mathematics portion of the test. Calculators will be checked by test center staff to ensure they are approved for the ACT.
A break will be allowed after the completion of the first two parts of the ACT. Students are prohibited from using cell phones and other electronic devices during breaks. Students are advised to use breaks to visit the restroom and sharpen their pencils. Snacks and drinks are allowed during breaks, but will not be permitted in the testing room.
Students taking the basic ACT can expect the test to be completed by 12:15 p.m. Students taking the ACT Plus Writing can expect to finish the test by 1:00 p.m.
